A cycle of four three-hour classes. 4 Fridays 17:30-20:30
First meeting
preparation of the theme and preliminary drawing, we will talk about composition, contrast, how to transfer a color theme to black and white. We will show examples of graphic works by important artists.
Second meeting
transferring your design to linoleum and engraving. We will talk about mirror transfer and practice both hemispheres of the brain. We will learn about engraving tools and how they are used. We will create a test print on paper.
The third meeting
is fine-tuning the matrix and printing. We will create the final print.
Variants of printing:
on paper, on textile and imprint in ceramic clay.
You will learn how to apply printing ink to the matrix and how to control the satin machine. You will find out what to print on textiles. You will see an imprint in the ceramic.
In the fourth meeting, you will create a notebook, diary, diary using the book binding technique. Your graphic, textile print, or ceramic tile can serve as a book cover or appear in their pages.
What will you take away?
In addition to knowledge about the method of preparing materials, printing and a little insight into the history of art, you will learn that:
The resulting linocuts can be used as art prints on paper. That is, graphic sheets.
Or use the matrix to decorate textiles. Bags, purses, t-shirts, but also textile fabrics. That is, a textile design piece.
Or you can use the matrix for a tile, a mat for a pot, a napkin stand...
You will bind your own book from your own prints.
You can adjust which option you prefer with the course instructor during the art workshop.
Do you want all three? That is also possible!
So what will be created?
Graphic sheet or textile original print on fabric, handbag, bag, t-shirt...that is, your own unique design piece, ceramic relief.
That linocut can also be considered as an excellent exercise for the right and left cerebral hemispheres! You'll understand that pretty quickly 😊

CZK 4,600 including tuition fees, tools, aids and materials for all 4 techniques - except textiles. It can also be purchased on site after prior agreement. (needs for processing and printing graphics, necessaries for processing and printing on textiles, necessaries for bookbinding, necessaries for printing in clay, kiln firing).
